On Oct 26, SupplHi’s Director Giacomo Franchini was pleased to present the ENERGY INDUSTRY GLOBAL MARKETS FORECAST that was developed in collaboration with AMEC Foster Wheeler, Ansaldo Energia, Maire Tecnimont, Saipem and Technip, at the 22nd annual meeting of ANIMP’s Industrial Components Manufacturers Division in Milan.

The discussion that followed the presentation highlighted some key elements:

  • There are only 4 “markets” in the Energy industry: Middle East, North America, Russia and China. All the other geographies could be approached following an opportunistic strategy, especially for the case of SMEs;
  • The market of Brownfield / Revamping is a challenge for the entire value chain vs. the historical market for mega-systems;
  • The need for the value chain to focus on “value selling”, providing expertise, credibility and flexibility at an early stage of the projects (FEED). On the other hand, the final customers are impoverished of skills and there is more openness to Co-Engineering to reduce costs and render projects viable.
