  • Admin Registered - Pre-registered by the SupplHi Team based on presence on vendor lists and public info, their company profile include basic information.
  • Agent - Companies that represent your company and act on its behalf in certain geographies to increase sales.
  • Application Programming Interfaces (API) - Communication protocols and tools for building software. In more general terms, they are a set of clearly methods of communication between various component or programs. At SupplHi we leverage on APIs to connect the SupplHi.com digital ecosystem to client systems.
  • Assessment Visit - Assessment performed at the Vendor's premises, regarding the Vendor's managerial, organizational, technological, productive and logistic capabilities. Other relevant information about the Vendor is also collected, summarized and evaluated. It may be outsourced / co-delivered with a reputable third party, in agreement with the Buyer on whose behalf the qualification is being performed.
  • Brand - These can be Brands owned and distributed by your company or Brands your company represents as a trader or agent.
  • Broker / Dealer / Stockist / Trading House - It comprises: Vendors that buy and resell Goods or Services, without being involved in the manufacturing or the Contractor activity; Vendors that represent one or more manufacturers and resell their products; Vendors that do not directly produce Goods but buy and stock them for future sales.
  • Category Analyst - Professional role that acts as a pivot in the entire process of managing information and the relationship with Vendors. The resources are also in charge of managing the Vendor qualification process, which includes coordinating the Pre-Qualification and Qualification Process, Feedback and Assessment Visit.
  • Category of supply - A term used to identify either a Good or Service that is part of the SupplHi Standard Categorization. The aim of said categorization is setting a common language in a highly diversified industrial value chain of good and services.
  • Commercial Subsidiary - A company that is owned or controlled by the parent or holding company. Subsidiaries are separate and distinct legal entities from their parent companies, which reflects in the independence of their liabilities, taxation and governance. The term Commercial indicates that this type of subsidiary mainly has commercial and business development purposes rather than a manufacturing-type role within the group.
  • Company Incorporation document - Also known as a Certificate of Incorporation, this is a legal document relating to the formation of a company or corporation. It is a license to form a corporation issued by state government or, in some jurisdictions, by a non-governmental entity.
  • Company Tax identification number - Also known as the Value Added Tax (VAT) Registration number, this code is also issued by local governments for a company's tax identification purposes.
  • Digital Ecosystem - A distributed, adaptive, open system with properties of self-organisation, scalability and sustainability inspired from natural ecosystems. In particular the SupplHi digital ecosystem is characterized by the existence of multiple business lines, managed to work together to achieve the compangy's goal of being a true one-stop solution for industrial players on all levels of the supply chain.
  • Division -

    A division, also known as a corporate or business division, is a distinct part of a company that may operate under the same name and legal responsibility or as a separate corporate and legal entity under another business name.

  • EBIT - Is a financial measure of a firm's profit that includes all incomes and expenses (operating and non-operating) except interest and income tax expenses.
  • EBITDA - Is a financial measure calculated using a company's net earnings, before interest expenses, taxes, depreciation, and amortization are subtracted. It can be used as a proxy for a company's current operating profitability (i.e. how much profit it makes with its present assets and its operations).
  • Existing Qualifications - Qualification procedures that the Vendor has already completed or is completing for clients (e.g. End-Users, EPC Contractors, Technology Licensors,...). This list does not refer to quality certifications such as ISO and OHSAS, but only procedures the Vendor has completed to enter clients'Vendor Lists.
  • Exposure in man hours - The value that refers to total man hours worked by the company's employees in the given year.
  • Fatalities - The number of deaths on the job within the given year.
  • Goods - Any material, part, component, device, functional unit, piece of equipment, machine, apparatus, subsystem manufactured provided by a Vendor and needed for the activities of the Buyer. For the Buyer a Good typically becomes a capital equipment.
  • HSE - Health, Safety and Environment
  • Lost Time Injuries (LTI) - The total number of injures throughout the year that caused a suspension form work-related activities. In this case it refers strictly to the number of accidents, not the hours lost due to them.
  • LR - Lloyd's Register
  • Manufacturer of Goods and/or Service Provider - Vendor directly manufacturing / executing the Goods / Services / Subcontracts that it sells.
  • Manufacturing plant - A factory or manufacturing plant is an industrial site,where workers produce goods or operate machines processing one product into another. It is important to indicate your company's main (or all) production facilities to better show Buyers your company's geographical coverage.
  • Near Miss - An event that would have been an accident, but had no negative outcome due to protection systems adopted by the company or fortunate conditions.
  • Parent Company - A parent company is a company that owns enough voting stock in another firm to control management and operation by doing and influencing or electing its board of directors. In the case of multinational companies the parent company can be in a different geography and there can be more "layers" of parent companies, in which case we refer to an Ultimate Parent company (e.g. an EMEA division can ben parent of all the European based subsidiaries, but the global HQ and ultimate parent might be in USA).
  • Qualification Process - Evaluation process of the competences and capabilities of a Vendor, aimed at its inclusion in the List of Qualified Vendors. The Qualification Process is activated only upon request by a specific Buyer for a specified number of Categories, and it is executed only for that purpose.
  • References - A collection of information regarding a Vendor's completed projects, used to show Buyers a proven track record of competences. At least 1 reference is required for each selected Category of supply when completing the Vendor Registration process on the SupplHi.com platform. However, we strongly encourage inserting at least 5 references to increase qualified visibility towards Buyers.
  • Registered -

    Fully registered vendors, their company profile includes value-added information.

  • Revenue Split - An indicative split of a Vendor's revenue per category of supply, generally referring to the last 5-8 years of activity. Useful to give Buyers an instant snapshot in terms of the Vendor's capabilities, portfolio of goods/services and core business.
  • Revenues - The income generated from the sale of goods or services, or any other use of capital or assets.
  • Services - All services provided by vendors regarding the complex industrial world, spanning from engineering design to skilled provision to training activities and maintenance services to name a few. These also include turnkey solutions and contracts (e.g. EPC, Construction,...).
  • Subsidiary for manufacturing / ops - A company that is owned or controlled by the parent or holding company.
  • Super-User - The first user who registers a new company on SupplHi automatically becomes its Super-User. Its responsibilities include: keeping the company profile updated and endorsing colleagues. The Super-User role can easily be handed over to a colleague at any time.
  • SupplHi.com - The innovative digital ecosystem for industrial equipment and services. The online platform supports SupplHi's activities through different functionalities (e.g. Basic Search, Advanced Search, Vendor Registration, Vendor Feedback,...).
  • SupplHi.com Standard Categorization - Classification of Goods and Services with the purpose of defining homogeneous Vendor-supply links.
  • Vendor - Company that can supply Goods / Services.
  • Vendor Feedback - Structured information relative to the Vendor's performance during the procurement cycle for selected Goods / Services.
  • Vendor PassportTM - Collection, analysis and management of the information that provides insights on the capability of a Vendor to deliver a specific good or service.
  • Vendor Rating - Structured information relative to the Vendor's assessment during the Assessment Visit.
  • Vendor Registration number - The number issued to your company by your local government upon incorporation (e.g. in the UK it is the Companies House Number, in Italy this is also known as the REA number, in Brazil the CNPJ,...).
  • Vendor Scouting - Activity usually performed upon request by a Buyer client looking to gain more information about the market in a specific geography or category of supply (e.g. ASEAN region Vendors producing Valves). The SupplHi.com platform is used to extract the necessary information about Vendors.
  • Web Service - Common platform that allows multiple applications built on various programming languages to have the ability to communicate with each other. Web services usually orient a web-based interface to a database server, utilized for example by another web server, which provides a user interface to the end user.
